1. Requiem Xiii (Le Veilleur Silencieux) - After some birds, a thunder storm and backwards guitars this laid-back but dark track starts. Right away it reminded me of Love Under Will and Last Exit for the Lost from the Nephilim album.

2. Fields of the Nephilim are a semi-active English gothic rock/gothic metal band formed in Stevenage, Hertfordshire in The original line-up consisted of vocalist Carl McCoy, saxophonist Gary Whisker, Tony Pettitt on bass, guitarist Paul Wright and drummer Alexander "Nod" Wright.

3. "Requiem XIII (Le Veilleur Silencieux)" is as good as anything they have done before. If you liked the trippy atmospheres of Elizium then you should venture towards "She" and "Mourning Sun". If you are a bigger fan of the pounding songs then there are also tracks to suit you - "Straight To The Light" and "New Gold Dawn".

5. Mourning Sun is such an album. This is a bona fide, full blown, Nephilim album - total atmosphere, melody, drama, power and melancholy (OK, Xiberia falls dangerously close to Zoon territory, but not necessarily in a negative way) - it's all here in spades. McCoy famously declared 'I am the Nephilim' and on the evidence here, I can't argue with him/5(57).
