  1. Sure, “Youthanasia” is watered-down metal aimed at FM airplay, but Ellefson’s bass tone is stout for the entire recording, and combined with catchy, simple songs swimming in guitars like “The Killing Road” and “Family Tree”, it seems this is perhaps the best second-tier Megadeth album.
  2. Family Tree. Family Tree. Listen Now $ 9. Youthanasia. Youthanasia, among other newer Megadeth cd's, is really quite awesome. This marks the first Megadeth album in my CD collection (yeah, go ahead and chew me out for not starting with Rust in Peace/Extinction). I think the remaster is fine, but for the people complaining /5().
  3. I own the remastered Youthanasia cd and in the booklet, the page opposite the Family Tree lyrics shows a small boy in pajamas looking around the corner into another room of an empty, broken home. In the other room is a translucent, shadowy picture of an older, nude man.
  4. Megadeth's follow-up to the hit Countdown to Extinction lacks the focus of its predecessor, but Youthanasia makes up the difference with more accessible, radio-friendly production and tighter riffs. 5. Youthanasia is the sixth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on November 1, through Capitol Records. The album is .
